Work On River

Sant Seechewal mobilized numberless people (Sangat) round the globe for the voluntary kar sewa of rejuvenation of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s historic river Kali Bein, 160-km long tributary of the Beas, flowing through Doaba, the fertile central part of Punjab, known as the Granary of India. When Sant Seecyewal began the kar sewa in July 2000, the Kali Bein river was on the verge of death due to worst type of domestic and industrial pollution. Sant Seechewal, with the help of his Sangat, has cleared hyacinth and silt out of the bed of river, restored flow of clean water in it and beautified it with flowers and fruit trees, bathing ghats and bricked roads on its banks, transforming it into a picnic spot where the religious pilgrims, students and tourists from India and abroad come daily in large numbers to have a glimpse of its beauty.

Work On Underground sewerage System

Sant Seechewal has devised an underground sewerage system which is low-cost and indigenously modeled, but very effective, durable and easy to install. The efficacy of this system has been attested by its practical installation in more than 50 villages and towns. In this system, sewage waters are stored in a pond, treated in natural way and, then, supplied for agricultural use. This process promotes organic farming and saves farmers’ money on fertilizers and irrigation. The farmers of the area who, being crop-less and poor, were compelled to commit suicides, are glad to have a taste of prosperity as a result of Sant Seechewal’s kar sewa of the river.

Work On the Roads

Often remembered as “Baba of Roads”, Sant Seechewal has built thousands of kms of roads in backwards areas, which has set in a new era of faster economic and social development in this area.Work

Tree Plantation

Children filling envelops for planting saplings at Seechewal   Human life cannot be imagined without trees. They are the very basis of our life. But today man has become so selfish that instead of planting more trees he is rather felling them down, thus disturbing the balance of eco-system. As a result, various diseases have started engulfing men, animals and crops. To solve this problem, Baba Ji has initiated many projects for planting trees. At all the branches of Nirmal Kuteya, high quality horticulture nurseries have been established where fruit and flower saplings are prepared and distributed among the people free of cost.

Baba Ji has executed large scale programmes for planting trees on the roadsides and river banks and in other waste lands such as cremation grounds, and even in the courtyards of the houses of people. In many villages  ponds of dirty water have been transformed into beautiful p arks.  At  Sultanpur  Lodhi,  both  the  banks of the holy river Kali Bein have been beautified with flowery and fruit trees. In most of his sermons, Sant Balbir Singh  preaches to the people that tree plantation is a pious duty of all. At every important occasion, he distributes saplings as Prasad (grace) of God to his devotees with an advice not only to plant them but also to take care of them till they grow big. While giving saplings of fruit trees to the people, he also enjoins upon them to bring the fruit of the trees for him to eat.

Sant Balbir Singh Ji has not only planted thousands of trees along the Holy Bein but also made attempts to turn the holy city of Sultanpur Lodhi into a green city  by planting trees within the city. A beautiful garden has been planted in the cremation ground of village Seechewal. On the land belonging to the Trust the orchards of plum trees and guava trees have been grown. In these gardens, turmeric crop is grown through natural farming. Inspiration is given to the sewadar families for planting more trees on their private lands.
